Study Visit of the Managing Authority SOP - Transport Romania in Greece

MOU organised a study visit for the Managing Authority SOP - Transport Romania on the 29-30th of September at the MOU premises in collaboration with the National Coordination Authority - Ministry of Development and Competitiveness, the Managing Authority of OP “Accessibility Improvement”, the Intermediate Managing Authority for Transport and ERGOSE SA.
The meeting addressed a wide variety of issues with an emphasis on the sector of Transport. More specifically, presentations focused on the programming, managing, implementing and monitoring of co-funded projects in Greece, as well as the next programming period. Furthermore the MOU was highlighted as a successful experiment in public administration. On their part, the Romanian Delegation presented their Operational Programme as regards structures and procedures.
The two day meeting was followed by a Site Visit to the co-funded new double railway line Tithorea-Domokos, as well as a meeting at the premises of the Managing Authority of OP "Accessibility Improvement" to discuss the Korinthos - Patra PPP motorway project.
The Romanian participants found the meeting was overall useful and productive. The long experience of the Greek authorities on the management of co-funded projects together with the best practices which were highlighted during the meeting will be a useful tool for the Romanian Authorities for the implementation of their projects.
