PROFILE

MOU S.A.

  • is a non-profit institution operating within the broader public sector
  • it reports to the Ministry of Economy, Competitiveness and Shipping, but is external to the Ministry’s civil service structure
  • it is staffed from both the private and public sector by highly qualified experts

MISSION

Its mission is to support and assist public administration in the effective management of EU-funded programmes by meeting specific needs in:

  • highly specialised human resources
  • systems, methods and procedures
  • know-how

THE BOARD

It is governed by a nine-member Board, which serves for a three-year term and represents various social and economic bodies.

 

FIELDS OF ACTIVITY

Recruitment of suitable personnel for Managing Authorities (Special Services)

Training employees of the special services and the beneficiaries

On-going support of  beneficiaries with management weaknesses

Design and development of tools, methodologies and know-how relating to the management of cofunded programmes & projects

Procurement of state-of-the-art office equipment, information technology systems and modern infrastructure facilities for Managing Authorities

The MOU has established and applies a quality management system ISO 9001:2000 for "support of administration and implementation of EU structural interventions".


RESOURCES

The MOU is funded from national resources and from programmes co-financed by the European Union.

 

INSTITUTIONAL FRAMEWORK

It was founded in February 1996 by Law 2372/1996, following a decision by the Greek Government and the European Commission. This law was subsequently amended by Laws 2860/2000, 2937/2001, 3336/20053614/2007 and 3752/2009.
